The LT and PYI position transducer controls the position of the working table with a repeatability of between 0.2 and 0.3 mm in sanding machines by managing:
- the position of the table according to the thickness because the dimension is displayed on an indicator;
- the position of the belt rollers, displaying the different dimensions on an operator panel with the support of a PLC.

The sawmill machine is the sawing or cutting system thatturns round log into square timbers.
WRA-S controls the cylinder position and WPA-S the blade position with a resolution of 0.05 µm
The HYPERWAVE WRA-S and WPA-S magnetostrictive transducers allow to control cylinders and blades in sawmills by:
- aligning the log;
- providing the exact position of the band saw with an absolute and precise signal: linearity ≤±0.01%/FS;
- ensuring high resistance to vibrations;
- guaranteeing IP67 degree of protection avoiding dust damage at the end of the cut.

Gefran sensor Wood Industry Magnetostrictive transducer for log splitter control
The splitting log machinery includes equipment used for splitting firewood from softwood or hardwood logs. Many log splitters consist of a hydraulic or electrical rod and piston assembly and these are often rated by the tons of force.
In the hydraulic machinery, a log splitter either uses a hydraulic piston to drive the log through a stationary blade or a rotating cone shaped screw mandrel that pulls the log up over the edge. The higher the force rating, the greater the thickness or length of the log that can be split.
The hydraulic log splitter consists of three hydraulic actuators that move all the process phases.
The HYPERWAVE WRP-A and WPP-A magnetostrictive transducers allow to control the position of cylinders and the feeding system with a linearity error ≤±0,02%/FS thanks to:
- absolute and precise signal: ≤±0,02%/FS linearity error;
- high reliability (theoretically infinite);
- IP67 environmental protection rating;
- high vibration resistance: 15g/10…2000Hz (DIN IEC68T2-6).
