The InteliSENS EG series non-contact diameter and eccentricity gauge is designed to measure a variety of insulated wires up to 12mm (0.47”) in diameter. EG0112 is ideal for High Frequency Data and Small Coaxial Cables where eccentricity is critical to cable performance. EG0812 is ideal for small Automotive, Instrument and Energy Cables where wall thickness and diameter are kept at optimal dimensions to maintain quality and reduce material usage.
Automatic position adjustment ensures the cable is placed in the center of the measurement area. Integrated or remote SiDi CDi4 display provides clear visualization of 8-point wall Thickness, Diameter, Eccentricity and optional features.
Focusing on connectivity, the InteliSENS EG Series features 32-bit communication and comes pre-installed with Profibus, Profinet and Ethernet Industrial Protocols for your PLC connection. Modbus, OPC-UA, RS232, RS485 and WiFi are included as standard providing a wide range of digital communications for your Industry 4.0 Solution.

Measurement principles
The eccentricity meter combines the principles of electromagnetic and optical scanning. The optical scanning system is used to determine the insulation outer diameter of the wire, and the electromagnetic system is used to determine the wire core position, eccentricity and wall thickness in 8 points.
Optical measurements are performed by emitting light from an LED that shines on the measuring object, thereby casting a shadow on the CCD receiver. The image information is then evaluated by the integrated signal processor.
Optical and magnetic measurements are performed simultaneously at high speed, minimizing errors caused by wire vibration, and both measurements are controlled on the same plane to eliminate errors caused by product twisting.
