Silicon radiation sensors (Si sensors) are a cost-effective yet rugged and reliable solution for measuring solar radiation, especially for monitoring Photovoltaic (PV) systems. Based on the structure of the sensing element corresponding to the PV module, they are ideal as a reference for PV system monitoring.
In particular, a comparable spectral response with a PV module as well as a similar tilt error (incidence angle corrector) allows precise analysis of PV energy performance using Si sensor data.
