Proton Products The InteliSENS® SLR-MID series two-way, non-contact length and speed meter provides extremely accurate length and speed measurements in virtually any manufacturing environment and is MID certified ( certificate number: UK/0126/0120) to measure the final transport length for products destined for the EU market (EU Directive 2014/32/EU 2004/22/EC).

Automatic zero-speed down direction detection and measurement means the InteliSENS® SLR gauge length measurement counts both up and down, so the final length measurement will remain accurate to within 0.05% even with production lines that have stoppages, direction reversals and leaks.

Operating principle – Laser surface velocity meter

Proton products The InteliSENS  ®  Line Rate and Length Meter  illuminates a surface measured using a precise high-pitch interference pattern created by the intersection of two laser beams. Alternating bright and dark interference fringes regulate the light scattered by the object with a frequency proportional to the object's speed. This scattered light is detected by a photodiode and the electrical signal is digitally processed to determine the frequency and hence the speed. The object length is then calculated by integrating the speed measurement over time.

The InteliSENS ® SLR-MID series two-dimensional speed and length meter    extends this principle by using a high-frequency Bragg cell modulator to illuminate the measuring surface with a scanning interference pattern, generating a light signal. Light fluctuates even when the object is stationary. The direction of motion is determined by whether the frequency of scattered light is higher or lower than the stationary frequency.
