The BERTWave MP2110A is an all-in-one measuring instrument with a built-in bit error rate tester (BERT) and sampling oscilloscope, supporting evaluations such as bit error rate (BER) measurement, eye pattern analysis, etc of optical module.
BERT and sampling oscilloscopes are essential tools for evaluating optical modules used by optical communication systems. Up to now, the evaluation of typical optical modules, such as the QSFP28 and SFP28, has required a standalone BERT and a sampling oscilloscope, but with a 4ch BERT and an integrated 4ch sampling oscilloscope All-in-one, the BERTWave MP2110A eliminates the need for separate optical modules. tooling, cutting both capital costs for tooling and production costs.
Furthermore, the BERTWave MP2110A can simultaneously measure bit error rate (BER) up to 4ch on the RX side of the optical module, as well as simultaneously perform Eye Mask tests and eye sample analysis up to 2ch on the Tx side. Additionally, the MP2110A sampling oscilloscope has a sampling rate of up to 250 ksamples/s (six times faster than previous generation instruments) for faster Eye Mask inspection and Eye sample analysis. With support for simultaneous BER measurements and Eye pattern analysis, NRZ Signal Mask Edge measurements and Jitter analysis are supported. PAM4 signals can also be analyzed and support TDECQ measurements up to 53 Gbaud. BERTWave MP2110A reduces measurement time by up to 65%.

The MP2110A BERT measures bit rates from 24.3 Gbit/s to 28.2 Gbit/s in the standard configuration and from 9.5 Gbit/s to 14.2 Gbit/s by installing Option 093. The integrated sampling wave supports bandwidths of 40 GHz (electrical I/F), 35 GHz (SMF, optical I/F), and 25 GHz (MMF, optical I/F). In addition, the sampling oscilloscope has an integrated 100 Gbit/s band-pass Bessel filter as standard for measuring optical signals. This excellent performance helps ensure higher optical module manufacturing yields.
Furthermore, simple settings and easy user interface make the MP2110A easy to operate; Backward compatibility with MP2100B remote commands ensures trouble-free device upgrades.
Additionally, stable operation thanks to the built-in PC ensures performance regardless of the operating environment.
With multi-channel BERT, sampling oscilloscope, high-speed Eye pattern analysis and Mask Amplitude measurement, BERTWave MP2110A improves optical module manufacturing efficiency to cut production costs.
